Mark Fitzgerald has been appointed as Clare senior football manager on a two year term following ratification at a meeting of the Clare county board last night.
Mark has extensive coaching and management experience having managed the club in 2009 when we lost the Munster football final to, ironically, Clare side Kilmurry-Ibricane.
Mark progressed from there to working with the Kerry development squads, coach and selector with the club in 2019 & 2020 before joining James Costello's backroom team as a selector with the Kerry minors in 2021.
Subsequent to the above, he was part of Limerick's senior backroom team under Mayo native, Ray Dempsey and became interim manager when Dempsey departed after just five games in charge.
Mark will be joined on the team by former Limerick captain, Seanie Buckley and Kilrush native Owen Tarrant as S & C coach.
Buckley has been involved in recent times with Eire Og, Ennis whilst Tarrant was part of Mayo's backroom team.
We would like to wish Mark every success with the Banner county.
