A well attended AGM was held on Friday night 6th December with comprehensive reports being submitted by all officers from all sections of the club.

Oliver Molloy, marking his first year as chairman, outlined some of the developments which have taken place, from upgrading of the dressing rooms and changing areas in Healy Park as well as the installation of a new locking system.

He outlined plans for improvements to the viewing area in Strand Road in addition to the upgrade of the floors in the dressing rooms and some other small adjustments.

The installation of the new gym was a major milestone financed by the windfall from JP McManus and proceeds of the Last Man Standing fundraiser - the voluntary work undertaken by members ensured there were no labour costs which was a major saving overall.

He was fulsome in his praise of the support and cooperation he has received from various members singling out Pat Flavin, PRO as his “ right hand  man” and thanking him for his efforts and hard work throughout the year; if Pat is his right hand man, then John O’Connor, juvenile chairman was his “ left hand man” who helped out in many ways throughout the year.

The treasurer, John McCarthy reported a robust financial year, with the accounts showing a very healthy surplus; this was helped in no small part by the one off golf classic held on Good Friday and which not only raised a substantial sum but was also a very good PR event for the club.

The FOSR continues to contribute significant funds with the weekly lotto contributing considerably due to a combination of a large jackpot, attracting more interest  and a major increase in those playing online. 

Secretary Moira Lynch Horgan presented a broad report and was effusive in her praise for all the support and help she received throughout the year.

As there were no motions or nominations, the meeting concluded on a positive note with members expressing satisfaction with the year past and looking forward to 2025.
