Kerins O’Rahillys’ U14 girls finished their season in style on Wednesday, 16 September with a 5-07 to 2-07 win over Abbeydorney in the North Kerry League Shield Final at Pat Healy Park, Ballyrickard.
The girls produced a determined team performance, with every member of the starting fifteen and the substitutes who came on playing their part in a memorable victory. Their hunger for the win showed throughout, and the result brought the Shield back to the club as a fitting reward for the panel and coaches at the end of their campaign.
Well done to Abbeydorney for a sporting final, and thank you to referee Jason for officiating. Congratulations to the U14 girls and their coaches on a brilliant finish to the season.
There was more positive girls’ football news during the week as the U8 girls enjoyed an evening blitz in Blennerville. Hosted by St Pats Blennerville, with Churchill also taking part, it was a busy and enjoyable evening for the young KOR players. The girls were put through their paces in a series of football games and took every chance to get involved.
There was plenty of skill on show, with goalmouth action, sack races and tug-of-war adding to the fun. The girls represented the club superbly and showed the progress being made through their training and practice.
