Kerins O’Rahillys Mothers & Others will host a special football blitz at Strand Road on Sunday 18th October, in loving memory of their friend and teammate Alison O’Sullivan.
The event promises to be a wonderful afternoon of football, friendship and community spirit, with all proceeds going to Palliative Care Tralee.
The first games will throw in at 1pm, with visiting Mothers & Others teams joining the hosts for an afternoon of football played in the spirit of fun, participation and friendship that makes the Gaelic4Mothers&Others initiative so special.
Teams expected to take part include Abbeydorney, Milltown/Castlemaine, John Mitchels, Ballymacelligott and Churchill, alongside Kerins O’Rahillys.
The blitz will feature nine-a-side football, with each team playing a number of games throughout the afternoon. There will also be a crossbar challenge, refreshments and plenty of opportunities for supporters to get involved.
Following the football, everyone is invited to Charlie’s Bar at the clubhouse for music and a raffle, with spot prizes up for grabs.
We would love to hear from local businesses who might be willing to donate a spot prize for the raffle. Any contribution, big or small, would be greatly appreciated and will help support this very worthy cause. For anyone unable to attend, donations are also very welcome, with details available on the event poster.
Most importantly, the day is an opportunity to remember Alison while raising funds for a very worthy local cause.
