Now in its 9th year this year’s run promises to be one of the biggest and best ever. The online registration platform ( myrunresults.com) continues to attract entries so if you intend running please ensure you register on time.

This year’s run honours one of our club stalwarts, the late Tom Begley. 

Tom was the quintessential GAA volunteer - always available, always willing to help out in any way he could ( fundraising, stewarding, lotto, umpire) you name it, he did it; he had a lifelong association with our club from the time Patrick & Tommy came into the juveniles in Strand Road to his unstinting work with the lotto in recent years. All this was done below the radar - Tom never sought the limelight, just carried out his work in a diligent and assiduous way, but always present.

Tom’s loss to the club is great but his loss to Kay and family is inestimable - we hope that Kay, Patrick, Tommy and Niamh will find some comfort knowing how revered he was within the Strand Road community.
