Juvenile Academy
There was no Academy last weekend due to the St Patrick’s Day Celebrations ☘️
Thanks to all the young children along with their parents who took part in the St Patrick’s day parade in Tralee. The weather was cold but dry for the activities of the day and everyone had a great day representing our Kerins O’Rahillys club with pride. The blue & white flags were in full flight as the children chanted how they wanted to be a Narie! The Academy will resume in Ballyrickard next Sunday, 24th March at 11am.
U12 Boys
The U12s last game in the Town League due to be played last Saturday v Churchill was called off due to the weather. This game is to be rescheduled and details are awaited.
The U12’s will be off to Croke Park on Good Friday, 19th April to participate in a Blitz. A super exciting time for the boys and our club to be chosen to partake in the day. They will represent the club well.
U14 Boys
The U14s played their last game in the Town League last Friday evening at home in Ballyrickard to Stacks B team. On a wet evening with slippery ball handling conditions we started the match knowing that a win would see us reach the final. The boys in blue were fast out of the blocks with Odhran Kerins scoring the first of his goals socce- style. In a tough and physical game with every ball keenly contested by both sides, we added further goals by Cillian Hussey, Odhran Foley, Odhran Kerins and points from Tomas Kennedy & Ryan Houlihan to leave us well on top at half time on a score line of 4-2 to 0-2.
Austin Stacks to their credit were playing well and in the 2nd half the Naries had to defend heroically to stem the Rock’s revival. Stacks piled on another six points in the 2nd half with O’Rahillys’ only score coming from the boot of Tomas Kennedy from a free. Our goalie and captain, Sean Collins was solid with some smart saves & had great success with his kickouts. Our full back line of Seamus Cahill, Brendan Meehan & Daniel Aneke were tight marking & gave little away. In the half back line Ruairi Kennedy, Jake Foley & Tomas Kennedy were immense & covered every blade of grass on the pitch. Jamie McCarty was full of running in both attack and defence and worked tirelessly. Cillian Hussey and Cian Lynch played their part as well in the half forward line with Odhran Kerins terrorising the Stacks inside line, where he got great support from Odhran Foley. Overall it was a well-deserved win against our neighbours in a highly competitive match. Well done to all the squad. The U14s now progress to the final of the Town League with the date for same to be confirmed.
Training as normal for U12s and U14s this week. The U16s central region campaign is put back for two weeks. They will train as normal this week.
