JUVENILE ACADEMY
Ballyrickard was the place to be at 11am on Sunday last where the sun was shining for the juvenile training. All the children practiced and learned new skills under the watchful eyes of their dedicated coaches. The U10 girls had Churchill visiting them in a challenge game and the whole panel played really well as parents watched on enjoying some delicious home baking & a warm cuppa. Well done to all involved.

U12 BOYS
The U12s clocked up back to back victories over the last week. Firstly, they made the long journey to Renard for the third county league game of the year, but it was well worth it as they won out on a scoreline of Kerins O’Rahillys 5-19 Renard 2-4.
Captain, Jamie McCarthy led by example in the early stages with a goal and three points. Renard kicked their first two points of the day before Daniel McCarthy was on the end of two exceptional moves to finish to the net. Renard continued to fight back and struck for two goals but our boys dominated the remainder of the second half with a further brace of goals from Jamie and another four points. Nick, Jude and Brayden got on the score sheet to leave the scores 5-11 to 2-2 at half time. The second half saw Nick Lacey add four points and Odhran Foley and Luke O’Brien drove through for scores. In the end we were comfortable winners with great performances all over the pitch. Man of the Match: Jamie McCarthy
The U12s continued their winning streak with another victory at home to Cromane. Jamie Mc Carthy opened the scoring with three great points and this was followed quickly by a goal from Daniel Mc Carthy. Cromane began to settle well at this stage and it was very close right up to half time where a goal from Jamie and points from himself and Ruairi Kennedy left us one point in front at 2-08 to 2-07. We got off to a great start in the second half with two great goals from Daniel McCarthy giving him a hat trick for his day’s work and another goal from Jamie as well as some very well taken points from Jamie, Ruairi and William Higgins. Evan Daly had a great game in goals and even got a run outfield when Ciaran Griffin took a break from the backs where he had an outstanding game. Brendan Meehan was his usual hardworking self and never took his eye off the ball and worked so well with Ruairi Kennedy who made some massive runs, scoring five points and linking the whole game together all day. Cillian McGrath, Sean O’Mahoney and Odhran Foley did trojan work in both halves and made life very difficult for their markers all day. Ruairi Kennedy, Luke O Brien, Ryan Onyekwere and William Higgins along with Jamie Mc Carthy worked tirelessly all day and showed some great skills and some lovely hand passing. This was a great display by all the boys and especially on a day when we were missing six of our players. Next game is at home to Desmonds. Man of the Match: Daniel McCarthy
U14 BOYS
U14’s played at home on Saturday last to St Pats. It was a very early throw-in for both sides with the boys in blue quickly out of the traps and assisted by a strong breeze, they raced into a half time lead of 5-12 to 0-0 with Tomas Kennedy grabbing 4-03, his brother Ruairi getting 0-2, Cillian Hussey 0-2, Jamie Mac 1-2, Ryan Houlihan 0-1 and Odhran Kerins 0-2. Strand Road to their credit were playing some nice football and kicked for scores with great accuracy. The backs had a quiet day at the office with Daniel, Cian, Jake and Seamus controlling their territory with ease. In the second half the Narries adopted more of a running game, setting up some great moves and restricting St Pats to the minimum amount of possession to run out winners. It was great to see Josh Hoare making his U14 debut in this match and he played his part in this victory so well done Josh. Our final game in the county league is away to Dingle next Wednesday evening, 1st May at 7pm where we hope to continue our winning streak.
