It’s fair to say 2019 was the most successful year ever for ladies football in Kerins O’Rahillys , we now have teams from Academy through to Senior with all teams having had a very enjoyable year. With that comes expectation for the year ahead and the responsibility on us to have coaches and teams playing all over Kerry in Co. Leagues, North Kerry and championship so a busy season ahead.
Plenty of football for those who want it in 2020! Knowing that everyone needs to be prepared for the season ahead last year’s U16 coaches organised circuit training from U16s upwards in the Kerry Sports Academy, IT, North Campus. This has been a great success and is most enjoyable.
On Thursday nights we have the ‘ Operation Transformation’ walk leaving the club for a brisk walk to get the body moving into 2020. All age groups will begin to get outdoors kicking a ball from next week onwards. Texts will be sent.
Both the Co. League and North Kerry League draws will be done in the weeks ahead and we will update you on this once we have the information but we expect to be entering teams in all competitions available to us in 2020.
The U12s will start with the North Kerry League over the next few weeks.
The U14s, U16s, Minors and Seniors will start with the Co. League mid March.
Plenty of football for all ages so no one will be idle.
It was announced during the week that we are one of thirty clubs chosen for this program by the LGFA. We are delighted to have the opportunity to participate in this.
Initially there is an induction night for coaches followed by 2 training days in Limerick. The program span is over eight weeks and at the end the girls and coaches will enjoy a day of fun and games in the National Sports Academy, Abbotstown, Dublin towards the end of April.
MENTAL FITNESS PROGRAM
Many thanks to Dr. Susan Lawlor who ran a workshop with various age groups of girls and boys in the club.
Thanks also to the girls and boys for participating. When Susan has compiled everything she will be back again out on the pitch with everyone.
