AMBER FLAG
Kerins O’Rahilly’s Club are pleased to announce that we have been awarded with the Amber Flag and are one of the few, if not the first GAA Club in the county to receive it. Well done to everyone who worked hard to achieve this. This work is continuing with our interactive workshops which Dr. Susan Lawlor will be running in our club with the children, their families and coaches.
U12 GIRLS
On Tuesday, May 7th we are away to Milltown/Listry in the county league. Throw in at 7p.m. in Milltown Pitch.
U14 GIRLS
Last Friday our U14 girls travelled to Castleisland for a Division 2 county league back game v Desmonds. Castleisland were a very big strong team showing a high level of fitness and skill. Ella O’ Connor was our captain on the night and she was also celebrating her birthday. To mark the occasion she played the best game of her life in her blue and white jersey. It was a very tight game all the way to half time and all from 1 to 15 were unbelievable. Kelly Fitzgerald once again in goals was outstanding. Lauren Doody and Hollie Leane made some massive turnovers and put their bodies on the line again and again. Our midfielders Keelan Coffey and Aoibhin O’Connor-MacCarthy were outstanding. Katie Nix, Lia McLysaght and Bronagh Carroll played very well up front with some great scores. We were six points down with a few minutes to go and down to 14 players due to Bronagh getting injured after having played a massive game. The Narries had to dig deep and that they did. Katie Nix scored a great goal followed by a great pass from Siobhán Clifford to score a point. We were two points down with about a minute to go and Sophie Hassett banged in a great goal to win the game 3-04 to 3-05. What a comeback! Our girls never gave in, always giving it 110% . Anú Hayes is a great addition to our team. Rachel Foley and Nathali gave it their all. We host Fossa in Ballyrickard this week in the non-county player Co League. More details to follow.
U16 GIRLS
Best of luck to the girls and their coaches on Monday evening when they meet Dr. Crokes at home in the county league. This will determine if we make a county league semi-final and it may also determine who that opposition might be. They are a very good side and have had some very good results so far, but these are the games we train for and are looking forward to the challenge.
