U10 GIRLS
We participated in the North Kerry U10 blitz last Sunday in Healy Park, Ballyrickard. We entered 2 teams and each played three games providing entertainment for the onlookers with all of the girls from every team showing off some great skills. A big thank you to Nora for her delicious biscuit cake for our shop. It was scrumptious!
Well done to our players and their mentors and to Frank Mcloughlin for organising this and for his hard work. It’s great to see the girls enjoying games. Many kids giving up now at an early age and it’s fun games like these that helps keep them interested.

U16 GIRLS
Last Thursday we had the pleasure of David Moran ,current lot and Kerry midfield star who took a session in Pat Healy Park . With exams, holidays etc we had girls out so we combined age groups from u14 through to minor and senior ladies and we had about 30 who took part.
Dave set up some fabulous drills which combined kicking, handpasing ,movement, point kicking and every drill brought a different skill into play and then they were all combined into plays that would be part of a normal game. It was a really fast paced hour that had ball work all the way through and gave the girls of all ages an experience of how things operate at county level training sessions . Importantly it had everyone’s full attention from minute one to the final minute which really showed how well David had the girls tuned in and you could visibly see the girls improving as the hour progressed
Thanks again to David, not easy to find time in the busy world he operates in but again another voice in training to bring the girls football to another level,we will continue to introduce different voices at varying times through the season to enhance the whole experience of playing ladies football in KOR and all with the aim of making it more enjoyable and improving how we play football.
Wishing the girls doing exams all the best and hope it’s going well, only another week or so to go!!!
Theres still the option of training on Tuesday at 7.30p.m. for an hour for whoever is available from U16s on to seniors.
JUNIOR LADIES
Great training session last Thursday evening. Thanks to David Moran for taking time to do drills with the ladies in Strand Road .
