Summer Camp:
Our summer camp kicks off today ( Mon 30th) and a great week ahead is promised – already scores of kids have registered for the week long activities and if you have not already done so, its still not too late to get involved – please remember to bring your lunch and a drink. Camp will be held daily from 10.30 to 2 pm
Family fun day:
The family fun day was a great success with a huge turnout of adults and kids alike – there was plenty for everyone from skipping to stilt racing to arts and crafts but the main attraction was the human soccer table which provided much fun and merriment throughout the day. The weather played its part too as did Declan and Paddy who donned their chefs hats dishing out delicious burgers and hotdogs – a sincere thanks to all who helped out in any way and to the parents and of course the kids who made it all possible.
U-13:
We have qualified for the town league final where we will face Churchill – we await details of time and venue.
U-14:
We had a big win over Na Gaeil on Monday night last in the final group game in Central league. We were on top from the first whistle and playing some delightful football went in ahead at half time, 3-09 to 0-02. The second half continued in the same manner and we ran out comfortable winners on a final score line of 5-18 to 1-04 – this result means we top the table and now play Ballymac in the semi finals on this Monday night ( 30th) in Strand Road at 7 pm – support would be greatly appreciated.
Our B team were not so lucky when beaten by a physically stronger Austin Stacks side last Monday in their semi final played in Connolly Park – well done to the lads and to Oliver for this time with this group.
Hard luck to Darragh, Eric, TJ & Jack who were part of the North Kerry squad who participated in the semi finals of the Jim Power tournament held in Dungarvan at the weekend. They were unlucky losers to North Cork in the opening round losing out by 3 points and though they were successful in their next game, their first game loss ruled them out of progressing.
We had success in the U-15 competition played in Portlaoise where the North Kerry team managed by Mark Fitzgerald and including Jerome Daly advanced to the semi finals which will be played on August 18th. North Kerry had outstanding wins over Dublin, 1-11 to 1-03 and Laois 3-09 to 3-03 which sets them up nicely for the semis – well done lads. South Kerry also progressed to the semi finals.
U-16:
We travelled to Gneeveguilla on Weds last in search of further points following recent wins over Kilgarvan and John Mitchels. We conceded an early goal but got on top soon afterwards and with some good scoring went in at half time ahead by two points, 1-8 to 1-06. The second half saw us up the ante with a flurry of goals and though Gneevguilla fought back we had done enough to win – final score: 4-15 to 4-10. We now play Ardfert on this Weds night ( Aug 1st) in Strand Road @ 7 pm
The 7 a side blitz continued last week and following wins over Annascaul/Lispole and Desmonds we now will contest the finals this coming Friday night in Currans.
