Dan O’Keeffe

Kerry Goalkeeper 1931 - 1948

Dan O’Keeffe is perhaps the most decorated of all our former players. He had the distinction of playing in goals for Kerry from 1931 – 1948 winning 7 All Ireland senior medals in that period and being on the losing side on 3.

Remarkably he holds 14 Munster senior championship medals having only been on the losing side once, that in 1941 when Cork were victorious by a point!

He was selected on the team of the millennium and is also the oldest player to have won an All Ireland senior medal on the field of play that being in 1946 when Kerry defeated Roscommon when he was aged 39.
