Congratulations:
Its fair to say that Sunday 2nd Sept will remain long in the memory of Tomás Kennedy as he made his Croke Park debut on All Ireland finals day. Tomás was selected to play at wing forward on a “Tyrone” team which played an exhibition game at half time in the Kerry/Galway minor final and then stood with the senior players as they were introduced to the President Michael D Higgins – a day he will never forget. Well done to Tomás and to Tommy & Catriona, no doubt very proud parents.
Academy:
A big gathering this morning in Healy Park for the Sunday morning club where John Mitchels U-10s were our visitors – a great morning was enjoyed by all with the following taking the players of the week awards:
U-6 Boys: Oisin Priestly & Adam Quill
U-6 Girls: Corey Boylan
U-11:
Our U-11s took part in the Jerry Foley tournament on Sat last in Farranfore; we were in a group with: Firies, Listry, Milltown/Castlemaine, Currow, Newmarket & Ballymac – a total of 6 games were played and we won 4 which was not enough to make the final. The boys did the club, their coaches and parents proud producing some great football during the day – our thanks to Firies GAA for organising the event and for their hospitality – it was much appreciated.
U-12:
Both A & B teams travelled to Ballyseede on Monday night last to take on John Mitchels.
Our A team proved too strong on the night, playing some fine football winning eventually on a score line of 5-13 to 1-04.
Our B team were competitive throughout against a good side and eventually went down on a score line of 5-20 to 5-09.
We are in action this week with both teams involved – first up this Monday night (3rd) the A team take on Desmonds in Castleisland @ 7 pm with our B team making the short journey across town to take on Na Gaeil in Killeen on Weds night ( 5th) again @ 7 PM.
