U12 GIRLS
Our U12 girls travelled to Glenflesk on Tuesday night last to play the last round of the county league, Div 2.
It was a calm dry night and the game got off to a good start for the home team when they got a long distance goal. We exchanged pts. with them, our opening pts. coming from Kelly Fitzgerald and Nathali Mulumba then we had a goal from Aoibhín O’Connor MacCarthy who due to a foot injury lined out at full forward.
The game was very competitive, we added 2 pointed frees by Aoibhín O’ Connor MacCarthy.
Nathali Mulumba was outstanding adding 2 further pts. before half time to leave the score 2-6 to 1-6 in at the break in favour of Glenflesk.
In the second half it was all to play for as our midfield began to dominate and got extra ball into the forwards. Aoibhín O’ Connor MacCarthy won a ball out to the right of the goals and with little or no space she kicked a brilliant goal to the roof of the net. Within 2 minutes she added a second goal and we lead 3-6 to 2-8 for a while. Glenflesk added a goal and 3 further pts. while we had pts. from Lauren Doody and Sophie Hassett . Nathali, Aoibhín and Lauren were outstanding on the night.
Final score ..G’flesk 3-11 to KOR 3-8.
