Academy:
It was a lovely warm morning in Ballyrickard on Sunday morning with a big turnout of players and parents alike. The children trained hard along with their coaches with plenty of running followed by a match. Thank you as always to all the coaches for their time and commitment to the club – it is much appreciated.
Thanks also to the parents who generously brought some goodies this morning.
The skill of the week for the U10 Boy’s is the “Pick Up”, enjoy practising the skill during the week.
The skill for the U 8/10 GIrls & the U 6 boys & girls is the “Body Catch” – enjoy practising during the week.
We’ll no doubt look forward to seeing the skills improve in next week’s session.

U-12s:
We travelled to Gallarus to play an Ghaeltacht both U12 A & B teams on Sunday evening.
It was a lovely warm sunny evening in the West, perfect for football.
Team A, played well yet were defeated by a stronger an Ghaeltacht team on a score line of KoR 1-15
to An Ghaeltacht 5-24
Team B played well also – it has been said each week this team keeps improving with every game.
They play well together and were comfortably ahead for the whole match, winning eventually by 9 points.
Final score KoR 5-17 to An Gaeltacht 5-8.
The U 12’s have no match next week.
Training as usual Tuesday and Thursday, 6.30 to 7.30pm in Healy Park.
Go Games were held in Connolly Park last Wednesday evening with again a big turnout – everybody enjoyed themselves on a great evening’s football. There are no Go Games this coming week.
U-14s:
Our U-14s were beaten by Fossa in Ballymac on Weds night last in the county league division 2 final. This was a game that was nip and tuck all the way with only a point separating the teams at the half time whistle, 1-05 to 1-04. We were down five points twice in the second half but great heart, commitment and no little skill saw us level the scores in the final minutes to take the game to extra time. The additional 20 minutes was a bridge too far as we ran out of steam succumbing to a physically stronger side at the finish. Commiserations to the boys and congrats to Fossa who were deserving winners.
U-15s:
The Munster Super 10s Fé 15 competition took place last Sat morning when we welcomed St Senans, Shannon Gaels and Boherbue/Kiskeam to Healy Park.
This is an initiative by the Munster council to ensure the participation of players who otherwise might not be playing @ U-16 level and to have players playing against opposition from outside the county.
The games were played on a round robin basis and when we came to play our Cork opponents it was a top of the table clash with the winners advancing to the finals on Sat 15th June next in Mallow – when the game was over, it was us who will make the trip coming out on top on a final score line of 3-07 to 2-08.
Well done to the lads who participated and to Ray & Barry who took charge of the team.
Squad: Sam Pituch, Jerome Daly, Eric McMahon, TJ Heaphy, Alan O’Connor, Ben O’Brien, Sam McCarthy, Enis Reka, Jack Savage, Seán Healy, Darragh O’Connor.
