Academy:
The Academy is taking a break until Sunday 19th following the hugely successful summer camp run last week – numbers attending was up on previous years and children and parents alike were all in agreement that it was one of the best camps in years – well done to all who helped with this event.
U-12s:
We play Ballymac at home on this coming Thursday night ( 9th) whilst the B team have a bye this week.
U-13s:
We took on Churchill on last Friday night in the final of Coiste Trá Lí division 2. Churchill had already beaten us in the league proper so an uphill battle was expected; we started well and gave as good as we got in the first half to lead at half time, 1-06 to 0-06. The second half saw Churchill up the ante and they quickly goaled to level matters and pulled away thereafter winning on a final score line of 4-11 to 2-09. Well done to the lads who never gave up and were trying right to the final whistle.
U-14s:
We played Ballymac in Strand Road on Monday night last in the semi final of the Central League – we had already overcome the same opposition in Ballymac and raced into a 1-03 to nil lead within the first ten minutes – from here to the short whistle we kept our lead and had a five point advantage at half time, 2-04 to 0-05. The second half saw us dominate from the outset and we ended up convincing winners on a final score line of 5-17 to 0-11.
This means we have now qualified for the final ( vs Laune Rangers) and await confirmation of date and venue.
U-16s:
Our final league game saw us score a convincing win over Ardfert on Weds night in Strand Rd, final score 7-06 to 3-09. This means we now top our group and will play Currow this Weds night ( 8th) in Strand Road with throw in @ 19.00 in the semi final of group 3.
