A break from the action this weekend as we gear up for the last rounds of the league. The league table shows us in 2nd spot on 11 points with only points difference separating us from An Ghaeltacht. The points difference is marked however as we are + 16 to An Ghaeltacht’s (- 2). Our next game sees us at home to Glenbeigh/Glencar which will take place on this Friday night 13th @ 19.15 in Strand Road where another two points would see us cement our position in the table but the opposition will need the points for different reasons ( they are currently on 4 points and fighting relegation ) and will, without doubt, be ready for the game. The final fixtures will see us travel to Beaufort for round 10 on weekend of 28th July and the final game is a home game with Dingle to be played on 19th August ( if Kerry NOT in All Ireland senior final ) or on the 14th October should Kerry contest this year’s decider.
Now that the county league is over, attention turns to the town league which commences on Weds 18th July with a home game to Ardfert which will throw in @ 19.30.
Games will be played each Weds night thereafter with games against Austin Stacks, Na Gaeil, John Mitchels & Ballymacelligott – full fixtures can be viewed on our calendar on www.kerinsorahillys.com
We are away to Knocknagoshel in a back game on Tuesday night next 10th July where throw in is @ 19.30
U-21 county championship will take place on Tuesday 24th July – await details of the draw for opposition and venue.
The Munster Chimney Solutions Coiste Trá Lí league town finals will be played on Friday night 20th July where we will contest the division 2 final vs Ardfert – throw in is @ 18.00 with venue yet to be decided.
Attention now turns to the first of the “Super 8s” games when Kerry take on Galway on Sunday next 15th July in Croke Park where throw in is @ 16.00. These games should add considerably to the excitement that the championship brings as well as giving teams more opportunities to develop and advance to the semi finals. Kerry’s other opponents in this group will be Monaghan and Kildare – Kerry will be away on weekend of 22nd July to Monaghan ( in Clones) and at home on the Aug weekend to Kildare in Killarney.
We would like to wish all the best to the team and management and especially our own trio of David, Jack & Barry John.
The U-20s will face off against Kildare ( impressive winners over Dublin on Friday night last) also next weekend in the All Ireland semi finals in what promises to be a great game – we would like to extend our good wishes to all and especially trainer Alan O’Sullivan in their quest for glory – date and venue for this decider not available in time for publication.
Members are reminded that if you have not already paid this year’s fee, that same is now overdue with an extended closing date of 31st July set. Applications for tickets for the final series of inter county games will only be accepted from paid up members.
