Seniors:
Division 1 County league:
Following on from our win on Friday night vs Glenbeigh/Glencar we are now in 2nd spot in the league on our own as An Ghaeltacht suffered a heavy defeat to Dr Crokes on Sat last – we now hold a two point advantage. The penultimate round, to be played on weekend of 27th July will see us travel to Beaufort whilst An Ghaeltacht will be in Templenoe – these results will determine the outcome of the league final, with Dr Crokes already guaranteed their place – a win for us would almost certainly see us qualify for our first final since 2013 when we overcame Austin Stacks following a last minute point from David Moran from a free.
Coiste Trá Lí:
The Lee Strand sponsored Coiste Trá Lí senior town board championship will see us play John Mitchels on weekend of 3rd August at home in Strand Road – fixture confirmation awaited.
Junior league:
The junior town leagues commence this coming Weds night ( 18th) when we play Ardfert at home in Strand Road commencing at 7.30 pm – for full list of fixtures please see our website.
U-21:
U-21 county championship will take place on Tuesday 24th July – awaiting details of the draw for opposition and venue.
Minors:
The Munster Chimney Solutions Coiste Trá Lí league town finals will be played on Friday night 20th July where we will contest the division 2 final vs Ardfert – throw in is @ 18.00 with venue yet to be decided.
Inter county:
Congratulations to senior footballer Shane McElligott who was introduced as an early second half sub in Kerry U-21 hurlers win over Kildare on Sat last.
Kerry produced a below par performance on Sunday last when losing to Galway in the first round of the so called ” Super 8s” – hard luck to David and Barry John but with two more bites at the cherry starting in Clones next weekend, there is still plenty of football to be played to get the team back on track for a tilt at the semi finals.
Commiserations to Alan O’Sullivan, trainer with the U-20s who suffered an agonising one point defeat to Kildare in Limerick in the All Ireland semi final – with less than 10 minutes remaining Kildare looked to be heading for a comfortable win but some late scores kept us in the hunt and we were only barely denied at the finish.
Lotto:
There was no winning ticket in last week’s lotto draw where the winning numbers drawn were: 7, 9, 11 & 25 – nobody matched 3. Next week’s jackpot will now be €4,900.
The five entrants for the special December draw are as follows: Gene Cronin, Con Spring, Monika Wojtel, Tim O’Sullivan and Antointette Sayers.
Tickets ( €2/3 for €5) available from the club house, Jimmys on Strand Road, Counihans Princes St and Foleys Spar, Castlemaine Road.
Please note that it is the responsibility of each individual playing our club lotto via direct debit to ensure that direct debit is paid monthly to the club.
In the event that we do not receive two consecutive monthly direct debits an individual’s lotto numbers will no longer be valid for entry to our weekly lotto draw.
If an individual cancels their direct debit their lotto entry is deemed cancelled
