After ten weeks of intense competition, marked by thrilling moments, unexpected upsets, and inspiring performances, the fundraiser reached its grand finale on Sunday last where we had an incredible 53 competitors who had predicted correctly entering the last round.

The winner, Dermot Kelly, got over the line by a two point winning margin from David O’Connor and Eoin Cassidy.

Dermot had a roller coaster ride throughout and though Roscommon and Monaghan had comprehensive round 1 and 2 wins respectively, Cork’s home game against Westmeath was almost his undoing as they scraped home by the minimum margin, 3-18 to 3-17.

Thereafter Dublin, Donegal, Kerry and finally Armagh did the business netting him €500 in the process.

The fundraiser was a huge success and is growing in popularity each year.

Dermot’s cheque was accepted on his behalf by his son Padraig,  who was accompanied by his 3 sons who will, gan dabht, be expecting to benefit in some way from this windfall!
